At Country Roads RV Center, Inc., we see a lot of business, especially at the end of the season. In many cases, people notice a warranty issue and decide to brazen it out until their camping season is over before they try to get it repaired. Then they find out the dealer they purchased their RV or travel trailer from doesn’t have a dedicated, full-service repair department which can do warranty work. This leaves owners scrambling to get the issues fixed anywhere they can—which brings them, in turn, to us.

Like many RV dealerships that do have full-service repair and warranty departments, Country Roads RV Center gives preference to our existing customers for both routine maintenance and warranty repairs. This can mean that customers who come to us for repairs on [...]

At Country Roads RV Center, we feel getting you and your family out there is only half the job. We also like to recommend great places to call your own “There!” This month, with summer and the peak RV season winding down, we checked in with our roving camping correspondent to see where he took his family for their latest adventure. Let’s take a closer look at Camp Margaritaville Resort & RV Lodge and the surrounding area!
Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, is about 3½-4 hours outside the Charlotte metro area, so it’s a pretty good drive. The destination, Camp Margaritaville Resort & RV Lodge, owes its name and island swagger to music legend and self-proclaimed pirate Jimmy Buffett and consists of both an RV park and a hotel to [...]

Myrtle Beach Travel Park is located at 10108 Kings Rd, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572. From Charlotte metro to northern Myrtle Beach is about 3.5 hours over good roads. Even better, it’s located on the quieter side of the area, with plenty of restaurants and family things to do. The entrance is [...]
Oftentimes when our customers bring their RVs, toy haulers, and travel trailers to Country Roads RV Center for service or off-season inspection, they want more than simply having the caulking redone or the panels checked for cracks. Many times, they will ask about upgrade options and what we recommend in the way of possible additions, accessories, adapters, emergency equipment, and other components that might make their next camping season run just a little smoother and more easily.

When one of our campground contributors brought in their Apex Nano travel trailer for the postseason, they had mentioned that they wanted to upgrade to an electric trailer tongue jack. After some discussion about what they were looking for, we decided to install an electric trailer tongue [...]

When cabin fever recently struck the home of one of our roving campground contributors, he loaded up the camper, packed up the family, and headed about 4½ hours south of Charlotte Metro. They landed at CreekFire RV Resort, which is located at 275 Fort Argyle Rd, Savannah, GA, ½ mile west of I-95 and within an easy drive of Hwy 77. Here’s what our intrepid explorer and his family had to say about their experience!
The Drive and Arrival To CreekFire RV ResortCreekFire RV Resort is listed as both a Passport America and Good Sam park with a 9.5 Good Sam rating, an easy drive from the Charlotte metro area. Trip routing was very straightforward. If you get hungry, need to rest or just want to stretch your legs for a few minutes, there are three or four rest areas along the route where you can pull in and get a vending machine snack. [...]
The Carolina Rose Campground is located at 185 Jim Neely Road, Salisbury, NC 28144, near I-40 and I85 in the Piedmont region of North Carolina, about an hour from Charlotte and 45 minutes from Lake Norman. Our reviewer, avid camper Frank Sullivan, took his family to the Carolina Rose Campground the weekend of September 18-20th. Here are his thoughts!

for the avid camper in the Charlotte metro area to get away from it all, and of course for the tourists who pass through on I-40 and I-85! Easy to find, it’s a lovely destination campground which I and my family will definitely be going back to in the future.

A few weeks ago, one of our campground contributors Matt took his family for a weekend of camping at the beach. This time around, they went to Cedar Island Resort, which is located in Cedar Island, NC on the North Carolina coast near the Outer Banks Ferry Terminal. Here’s what Matt had to say!
Cedar Island Resort is located about 5 ½-6 hours out of Charlotte off Cedar Island Rd, Cedar Island, North Carolina. Their website features solid travel guide links and a complete list of amenities and nearby attractions including Cedar Island restaurants
It was a lovely drive on mostly small roads, with only a few hills of any substance, which is a nice bonus when you’re hauling a trailer. We arrived late in the evening, and the entrance to the resort from Cedar Island Rd. is a little confusing. The entrance is on the right side of the roadway, near Cedar Island Ferry Terminal. [...]
