Myrtle Beach Travel Park Review
At Country Roads RV Center, we’re always excited to add a new review of the best campgrounds, RV parks, and RV-friendly resorts for camping near us. This week, one of our campground contributors, Steve, went with his family to our featured campground, Myrtle Beach Travel Park in beautiful Myrtle Beach, South Carolina! Let’s take a closer look at this 2020 Travelers’ Choice Award winner from TripAdvisor.com and see what it offers in beautiful coastal South Carolina.
Myrtle Beach Travel Park is located at 10108 Kings Rd, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572. From Charlotte metro to northern Myrtle Beach is about 3.5 hours over good roads. Even better, it’s located on the quieter side of the area, with plenty of restaurants and family things to do. The entrance is well laid out and check-in is fairly easy. Park the rig, go into the office, check-in with the friendly and helpful staff, get a park map, go to your spot. The campground is positioned right next to and between the ocean and a lake. Pets welcome and the grounds are designed to be family-friendly!
The well-kept grounds offer plenty of amenities, including a small camp store and gift shop with beer, wine, and ice cream. It also features an outdoor pool with a sun deck, a heated indoor pool, a splash pool, a lazy river, a basketball court, a beach volleyball court, a horseshoe pit, and a kids’ playground. In the freshwater lake for fishing, you and the kids can see turtles that come up to the dock and which visitors can feed.
When they say they’re an oceanfront campground, they mean it. There weren’t many bugs, but you’ll probably want bug spray on hand and you’ll definitely need sunscreen for the family! The half-mile of beaches is well-maintained. It’s reasonably quiet at night. Sites are pretty level and well-maintained, with easy access to water and electrical hookups. Each beach pull-through has a small gazebo. Some campers wrap tarps and plastic around them to make an indoor spot. It does get windy.

Next to the beach, the campground feels like it’s out in the middle of nowhere, but five minutes out of the campground you’re on the Boulevard, which gives you and your family access to mini-golf, restaurants, and shopping. You also have world-class golf courses, the Tanger Outlets, and other great nightlife and entertainment venues within an easy drive.
